Gerard Butler has shared startling details about the intense filming conditions on the set of the 2006 action epic, 300. Speaking with People, the actor revealed that numerous cast members sustained injuries while portraying King Leonidas and his Spartan soldiers as they battled the invading Persian army.

The Ugly Truth actor recounted, I remember every day somebody was getting taken to the hospital. Youd be doing a fight, you turn around, theres a guy down there, a spear went in his eye. Another time, you turn around, theres a guy over there who just fell, broke his ankle. I mean, it was insane.

The film, directed by Zack Snyder, is renowned for its stylised action sequences and intense physicality, which required the cast to undergo rigorous training and perform demanding stunts. Butlers revelations underscore the challenges faced by the actors as they brought the visceral story to life.

Currently, Butler is making waves with his role in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, a follow-up to the 2018 heist thriller. The sequel sees Butler reprising his role as Big Nick, a determined Los Angeles cop on a mission to track down a notorious diamond thief, played by OShea Jackson Jr.
