A court in Sirajganj on Wednesday allowed quizzing to former Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdul Latif Biswas at the Jail gate in a case filed over killing of 15 police personnel, carrying arson attack, vandalism and looting of arms and ammunitions from Enayetpur police station.
Abu Sayeed, GRO of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court confirmed the matter and said, the former minister Biswas was produced before the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court in Sirajganj by police seeking remand for seven days. After completion of the hearing, the court issued the order.
It is to be mentioned that, at least 15 police personnel were killed and various types of arms and ammunitions were looted by conducting attack on Enayetpur police station on August 4 during the Anti-discrimination Students Movement. The attackers also set fire to the police station and carried vandalism.
Abdul Latif Biswas was arrested by police from his resident at Kamarpara village in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj district on January 5 in connection with the case.
