Entertainment Desk:
Actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds will be taking legal steps to dismiss a lawsuit filed against them by filmmaker Justin Baldoni.
It has been reported that star couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds will seek to have a judge dismiss Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against them. The latter had previously sued the couple for extortion and defamation.
On January 30, the couple’s lawyers filed a notice in accordance to Judge Lewis Liman’s order. This outlined the next steps for the upcoming federal case. However, the couple has not yet filed a motion with the intent to dismiss Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against celebrity couple.
Lively and Reynolds’ co-defendant, Leslie Sloan, who is a publicist, also filed similar notice in court on January 28.
In their letter submitted to Judge Liman Thursday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, Michael Gottlieb, an attorney for Lively, 37, Reynolds, 48, and Wayfarer Studios LLC, wrote, “The Lively-Reynolds Parties intend to move to dismiss Plaintiffs’ complaint.”
Earlier, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni alleging sexual harassment. In response to that, Justin denied the harassment claims and countersued the couple on accusations of defamation and extortion.
