Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has announced a new schedule for bank transactions. The new schedule will be effective from today. Bank transactions will be conducted from 10 am to 3:30 pm as per the announced schedule. Besides, transaction and post-transaction ancillary activities will be conducted till 5 pm.

The new schedule will be applicable not only to banks but also to non-banking financial institution transactions.

The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) announced the new schedule for the insurance sector on Sunday. It said, “As per the government decision and bank timings, the schedule for offices of IDRA and all insurance companies has been fixed from 10 am to 5 pm from November 15 until further notice.”

The new schedule for winter was approved at a meeting of the Cabinet Division on October 31. Before the approval of this schedule, government offices were open from 9 am to 5 pm and banks and financial institutions were open from 10 am to 4 pm.

Earlier, from August 23, changes were made to the conventional office schedule to save electricity. At that time, new timings were made from 8 am to 3 pm.
