After a year-long break from the limelight, celebrated Bangladeshi singer Sabina Yasmin made her much-awaited comeback on January 31 at the “Ami Achi Thakbo” event held at a five-star hotel in Dhaka. She delivered a mesmerising one-hour performance, singing ten of her timeless hits. However, her return was cut short when she suddenly collapsed on stage and had to be rushed to the hospital, where she stayed for three days. Now fully recovered, Sabina is back in the recording studio, ready to create new music.
In a heartwarming reunion, Sabina teamed up with legendary singer Syed Abdul Hadi after eight years for a brand-new song. The track was recorded for the popular magazine show “Ityadi”.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Sabina Yasmin said, “My relationship with Hanif Sanket is one where I can never say no to him, so I agreed to sing the song. After so many years, it was also a wonderful opportunity to sing alongside Hadi bhai again. We had a great time chatting, and it was a delightful experience overall.”
She further added, “The song beautifully praises the natural beauty of our country. Rafiquzzaman bhai’s lyrics have been crafted wonderfully, and Emon composed a fantastic melody. There’s also a refreshing element in the arrangement.”
Abdul Hadi shared similar sentiments, saying, “Hanif is relentless. Once he sets his mind on something, he makes sure it happens. I haven’t sung a new song in a while and didn’t feel much inclination to do so, but the way Hanif presented the song, I couldn’t say no.
“It’s a fast-paced, lively song—unlike typical patriotic tracks, which are usually slower. Since it will air during the Eid special of ‘Ityadi’, we tried to infuse a festive spirit into the melody and composition. Patriotic songs have a certain form of purity in their lyrics, and that’s very much present in this one as well.”
Ten other talented vocalists, including Rajib, Kishor, Sabbir, Imran, Ayon Chaklader, Liza, Kheya, Sinthee Saha, Abanti Sithi, and Atiya Anisha, have lent their voices to the track alongside Sabina Yasmin and Abdul Hadi.
