Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin on Friday said the prices of Ramadan commodities, including dates, chickpeas and edible oil, will decline within the next seven days.
The essential food items for the Islamic month of fasting would eventually become affordable for consumers, the adviser said while visiting tannery factories at Harindhara of Hemayetpur in Savar.
There are enough stocks of food supplies to avoid any potential market turbulence, he told reporters.
During the visit, Sheikh Bashir Uddin also instructed tannery owners to avoid polluting the environment during the month of Ramadan.
