Entertainment Desk:
The popular web-series “Myself Allen Swapan” concluded on a mysterious note, with Shamsur Rahman Swapan speaking to a masked individual in the final scene.
Who was that person? Why was he searching for Swapan? These questions, along with many others, were left unanswered in the first instalment of the series centred around Allen Swapan. Now, those mysteries are about to be unravelled.
The announcement of “Myself Allen Swapan 2” came just on Friday through Chorki’s verified Facebook page.
A press note also confirmed that the second season will premiere during Eid-ul-Fitr. The announcement video features Allen Swapan standing amidst scattered bundles of cash, his signature smile on display, clad in his familiar safari suit.
Moreover, a voice in the Chittagonian dialect asks, “Where is my 400 crore taka?” Allen Swapan responds, “Because of you all, I had to come out. Myself Shamsur Rahman Swapan, aka Allen Swapan.”
The Tk 400 crore mystery from the first season remains unsolved. The true owner of the money and its hidden whereabouts are still unknown, keeping the audience intrigued as well.
The first season of “Myself Allen Swapan” revolved around Swapan’s transformation from a drug dealer in Chattogram to a key figure in money laundering. In the upcoming season, his operations are likely to expand, and his methods may evolve as well.
Actor Nasir Uddin Khan, who plays Allen Swapan, commented on the new series, “Many people have seen the character of Allen Swapan, and they know it is a villainous role. In the new season, the character will take on an even more terrifying form. His mischievous nature will remain consistent, but overall, the character is returning on a larger scale and in a new dimension for the audience.”
Allen Swapan made his debut in Shihab Shaheen’s Chorki original web-series “Syndicate”, where he appeared briefly in the final moments of the show. The spin-off series “Myself Allen Swapan” was created later, marking the first spin-off series in Bangladesh. Both series were directed by Shihab Shaheen, who is also directing the second season of Allen Swapan’s story.
Director Shihab Shaheen shared his thoughts on the upcoming season, “The experience of making ‘Myself Allen Swapan 2’ has been truly challenging. But these challenges have pushed me to think in new ways. After the success of the first season, audience expectations for the second season are high. I hope they won’t be disappointed.”
“The story and characters have progressed in a highly relevant way, and everything has been expanded in scale. When writing the script, it was both difficult and exciting to incorporate complexity and drama into the relationships between characters,” he added.
Actors Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Aymon Shimla, Farhad Limon, and Arnab Tripura, who were part of the first season, have returned for the second season. Additionally, new actors will be joining the cast, with their names set to be announced soon by Chorki.
