Staff Correspondent:
A 10-day holiday has been declared on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha. The interim government’s advisory council has made the announcement.
The decision was taken at the advisory council meeting held on Tuesday, at the Secretariat. The information was shared on the verified Facebook page of Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
When contacted, Shafiqul Alam confirmed the holiday announcement to the media.
During the last Eid-ul-Fitr, there was a 9-day continuous holiday from March 28 to April 5. The government had initially declared a 5-day continuous holiday for Eid. An additional day was added later by an executive order.
Notably, two days before the Eid holidays, March 26 was a public holiday for Independence and National Day. The next day, Thursday, March 27, offices were open for one day.
