The government on Tuesday reshuffled 31 senior police officers, including deputy inspector generals (DIG), additional deputy inspector generals (Addl DIG) and police superintendents (SP), transferring and promoting them to different posts and units across the country.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued three separate orders in this regard.

Some police officers have been promoted to supernumerary positions in the reshuffle.

Md Nurul Ami Haider has been promoted to the supernumerary post of Addl DIG and appointed at the Dhaka Police Staff College. Sylhet Metropolitan Police’s Additional Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque has been promoted to the supernumerary post of Addl DIG and transferred to the Khagrachhari APBn and Specialized Training Center.

The Khagrachhari APBn and Specialized Training Center’s current DIG Partosh Ghosh has been transferred to the APBn Hill Tracts unit.

In addition, Highway Police Superintendent Muhammad Rahmat Ullah has been transferred to Police Telecom; Muhammad Matiur Rahman Siddiqui of Police Telecom has been transferred to the 6 APBn In-Service Training Centre in Mahalchhari, Khagrachhari; and Additional Superintendent of Police Sharmin Akter of the Police Headquarters has been transferred to Industrial Police.

In the same notification, Special Superintendent of Police of the Special Branch Aminul Islam has been posted to the Police Special Training School (PSTS) in Betbunia of Rangamati; Additional Superintendent of Police of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Asma Akter has been transferred to Police Headquarters; Mohammad Nasir Uddin Jubayer of Police Telecom has been posted to Tourist Police; and Shahriar Bin Saleh of Police Telecom has been posted to Railway Police.

Khulna Range Additional DIG Tofayel Ahmed has been posted as Additional Police Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police. Police Superintendent Md. Sazzadur Rahman Russell of the Khulna Range DIG Office has been posted as Deputy Police Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police. Khulna Metropolitan Police Deputy Police Commissioner Merina Akter has been transferred to Tourist Police; Deputy Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Mohammad Mahiul Islam has been posted as Special Superintendent of Police in the CID; and Deputy Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Mohammad Mahiuddin Ahmed has been posted as Deputy Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police.

In a second notification, RAB (now SRB) Deputy Director Md Badruddoza has been transferred as Superintendent of Police of Netrokona, while Netrokona Superintendent of Police Md Tariqul Islam has been transferred to the CID as Special Superintendent of Police.

In addition, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police Headquarters Md Jalal Uddin Fahim has been appointed Superintendent of Police of Brahmanbaria; Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police Shah Md. Abdur Rauf has been transferred as Special Superintendent of Police in the Special Branch; RAB Deputy Director Mir Monir Hossain has been appointed Superintendent of Police of Rajbari; and Rajbari Superintendent of Police Mohammad Manzur Morshed has been appointed Superintendent of Police of the Highway Police.

Meanwhile, Meherpur Superintendent of Police Ujjal Kumar Roy has been transferred to the CID as Special Superintendent of Police, while AIG of Police Headquarters Ali Haider Chowdhury has been transferred to Meherpur as Superintendent of Police. In addition, Highway Police DIG Habibur Rahman Khan has been transferred as Commandant of Dhaka TDS, while Additional DIG of the Special Branch Mohammad Anisur Rahman has been transferred as Additional DIG of the Khulna Range DIG Office.

Additional DIG Md Gias Uddin Ahmed, who is on Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been attached to the Rangpur Range DIG Office, while OSD Police Superintendent Mohammad Jasim Uddin has been attached to the Rajshahi Range DIG Office.
