Entertainment Desk:
Bangladeshi actress Pori Moni strongly refuted false rumors of her death that circulated widely on social media late last night, calling the speculation “shocking” and “irresponsible.” She went live on her official Facebook page to confirm that she is alive and well, and to express frustration over the baseless claims.
“When I picked up my phone after a full day of shooting, I was stunned,” she said during the live session. “I received more messages than calls, asking if I was alive. Can you imagine hearing that a relative has died and calling them to ask, ‘Are you still alive?’ That’s how it felt for me.”
The actress emphasized that she is mentally strong and has no reason to take her own life. “I’m not a girl who would commit suicide,” Pori Moni stated firmly. “There is nothing in my life that would push me to such a decision. I am happy—with my work, with my two children. Please don’t let this kind of false news disturb that peace.”
She further criticized the motives behind spreading such sensational rumors, suggesting they were a distraction from real societal issues. “People talk about Pori Moni’s marriage when they can’t lower the price of potatoes. And now they’ve declared me dead because they can’t arrange a wedding,” she said sarcastically.
In a stern message to her followers and the public, she added, “If I ever die an unnatural death, it will mean someone killed me. But don’t ever believe that I would take my own life.”
Pori Moni concluded her live video urging people to be more responsible and respectful. “Stop dragging my name into everything. This kind of behavior is not only hurtful—it’s dangerous,” she said.
The actress’s heartfelt and defiant response has since gone viral, prompting an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities who condemned the spread of such disturbing misinformation.
