Shopping malls, markets to close by 8pm

The government has decided to close all shopping malls, markets and shops across the country by 8pm as part of measures to save electricity.

At the same time, all illuminated billboards must be switched off by 7:00pm.

The government has also ordered that all kinds of decorative lighting remain switched off.

The directive was issued by the Coordination-2 branch of the Power Division on Wednesday.
