Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has encouraged more journalists, including women reporters and editors, to engage with the Indian media to counteract misinformation campaigns propagated by certain Indian outlets and their social media platforms.

In a Facebook post from his verified account, Shafiqul said Indians need to understand that equally intelligent people reside on their eastern border. He referenced the recent overthrow of a “brutal dictatorship” in what he described as one of the most remarkable revolutions in history.

The press secretary expressed satisfaction that some journalists are already engaging with the Indian media, particularly its outspoken TV channels.

“Many of us feared we might struggle against the aggressive rhetoric of their TV hosts,” Shafiqul said. “However, some have overcome those fears and are boldly presenting our side of the story.”

Shafiqul added that it is crucial to confront what he termed an “industrial-scale misinformation campaign” from certain Indian media outlets and their social media platforms.

He acknowledged that mistakes and intimidation are inevitable but urged resilience.

“Some might think Indians are inherently smarter. But believe me, when you are empowered by the truth, no misinformation campaign can defeat you,” Shafiqul said.
