Entertainment Desk:
Time is not going well for actor Ferdous Ahmed. The actor lost his seat as a Member of Parliament just seven months after resuming office. The artiste, who has remained out of the public eye since the fall of Sheikh Hasina government, has been removed from the Tollywood film “Mir Jafar Chapter 2”.
Ferdous has been dropped from the Arkadeep Mallika Nath-directed film due to his silence during the recent student movement in Bangladesh.
The film’s producer, Rana Sarker, has revealed the matter while talking to a Bangladeshi newspaper. Rana Sarker said that Ferdous will no longer be part of his movie “Mir Jafar Chapter 2”.
“I’ve a plan to make this movie targeting audience from both Kolkata and Bangladesh. Keeping in mind the sentiments of the people of Bangladesh, especially the students, I have decided to dropped Ferdous from my upcoming film and I will not cast any Bangladeshi artistes in any of my movies, who did not support the anti-discrimination student movement. Also Ferdous was not responding for some time. Even after repeatedly contacting him since last few months”, said Rana Sarker.
“Mir Jafar Chapter 2” is a political thriller movie. The plot of the film will shed light on some disturbing incidents in a village set in a political backdrop and will explore the dark side that often remains unnoticed by all.
Bangladeshi actor Ziaul Roshan was also set to appear in the project. The film also features Tollywood actors Srabanti Chatterjee, Priyanka Sarkar Saurav Das, Subrat Dutta, Sohini Sengupta, Bulbuli Panja and Joy Sarkar.
It may be mentioned that, early last year, the actors’ looks were unveiled, and the authorities also announced that the fill will go on floor in January 2024. However, the filming has yet to begin.
