SAFF champions get warm welcome after returning home

Bangladesh women’s football team returned home on Wednesday (September 21) from Nepal with head high after winning the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship.

A Bangladesh Biman Flight carrying the football team, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 1.45 pm. State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russel and representatives of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) welcomed them.

Expressing joy, Bangladesh women’s football team captain Sabina Khatun said, thanks everyone for welcoming us in this way. This trophy belongs to the entire nation and the people of Bangladesh.

Earlier, the team India got musical welcome outside of the airport. Then, the winners started for the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) building at around 3:40pm with a victory parade featuring an open-top bus.
