Abdul Quddus, former convener of Sirajganj Press Club and Sirajganj District Correspondent for Daily Sangbad, has passed away. He was 82.

He breathed his last in the early hours of Friday (September 25) at his residence on Mujib Road in Sirajganj town. He had been suffering from various age-related complications for over a month.

According to family sources, Abdul Quddus suffered a heart attack on August 17 and was admitted to Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College Hospital in Enayetpur. After remaining under close medical observation for several days, he was brought home following a slight recovery. He then passed away early Friday morning.

Abdul Quddus began his journalism career as Sirajganj District Correspondent for The Daily Sangbad and served the same institution until his death.

He leaves behind a daughter, a grandson, brothers, nieces, nephews, and numerous well-wishers to mourn his loss.

His Namaz-e-Janaza was held after the Jummah prayers at the Malshapara Graveyard Mosque in the town, followed by his burial at the Malshapara Graveyard.

A wave of grief has swept through the journalist community in Sirajganj following his passing. Condolences were expressed by The Daily Sky family, Sirajganj Press Club President Harun-or-Rashid Khan Hasan, General Secretary Shariful Islam Inna, along with various journalists, social, cultural, and political leaders. They prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to his bereaved family.
