Four people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a truck on the Mymensingh-Netrokona road in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Bidhya Miah, 42, Lovely Akter, 18, Bakul Begum, 60, and Abdur Rashid, 65, said Md Shafiqul Islam Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station.

The accident occurred around 7:30am when the auto-rickshaw, heading towards Netrokona, collided with the truck, killing two passengers on the spot and critically injuring four others, the OC said, quoting locals.

The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where two others succumbed to their injuries.
