Nine more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours till 8am today, raising the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 1,096 from March 15 to September 27.

According to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room issued today, 1,228 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases stood at 188,041 from March 15 to September 27.

A total of 113 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 21,212 since March 15.

From March 15 to September 27, a total of 166,310 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 159,519 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Nine children died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 995 children have died from suspected measles since March 15.

No one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 101 children have died from confirmed measles.
