Instructions have been issued to take necessary measures to bolster overall security across all power plants in the country. The directive was issued in accordance with the ‘Record of Discussions’ from a meeting held by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ ‘Core Committee’.

In this regard, a letter was sent to relevant authorities on September 17 from Safety Branch-2 of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Subsequently, on September 23, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Headquarters issued another letter to the concerned officers to execute the directive.

The Home Ministry’s letter stated that, in line with the Record of Discussions from the Core Committee meeting held on August 26, necessary action must be taken to reinforce overall security at all power plants nationwide. Relevant personnel have been instructed and requested to act accordingly.

Following up on this, the letter from the DMP Headquarters requested the relevant officers to take action in accordance with the Home Ministry’s directive.

Highlighting the matter, the DMP letter noted: As per the Record of Discussions of the Core Committee meeting, necessary steps must be taken to enhance overall security at all power plants across the country.

Copies of the Home Ministry’s letter have also been forwarded to the Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Secretary of the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry, relevant branches of the Home Ministry, and designated police officials.
