Fuel supply across the country is rapidly returning to normal following temporary disruptions caused by international conflicts and technical accidents, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said on Sunday (September 27).

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat in the afternoon, the minister explained that the conflict in the Middle East severely disrupted regional oil and gas supply chains, causing delays in bringing purchased fuel into the country.

He noted that securing alternative energy sources took time, while a fire incident at a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) further compounded the supply crisis.

Despite these setbacks, the minister confirmed that the government has successfully restored the energy supply line and aligned delivery schedules.

He highlighted that the government procured gas from alternative markets at higher prices to ease public suffering, adding that direct intervention by the Prime Minister helped resolve the situation swiftly through coordinated teamwork.

The minister assured that power and energy supplies will remain stable moving forward, provided no further unforeseen accidents occur.
