Khulna Tigers, riding on Mahidul Islam Ankon’s blistering fifty and William Bosisto’s 75, beat comfortably beat Chittagong Kings in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.
Chasing a mammoth 204, Khulna were bundled out for 166 despite a Shamim storm. Shamim scored 78 from 38 balls hitting seven boundaries and five maximums. Before that, a timed-out drama happened during the seventh over of Chattogram’s innings. Mohammad Nawaz, the Pakistani all-rounder, had dismissed Haider Ali on the first ball.
As the new batter, O’Connell took too long to get ready. The rule states that a batter must be prepared to face their first ball within two minutes, but O’Connell couldn’t even make it onto the field in that time. By the time he entered, the two-minute limit had already passed.
Earlier, Khulna Tigers set a target of 204 to Chittagong Kings after being asked to bat first.
William Bosisto made an unbeaten 75 off 50 balls hitting eight boundaries and three maximums while Mahidul Islam Ankon scored an unbeaten 59 off 22 balls. He reached his fifty in 18 balls.
