Mahdi Amin: Bangladesh now a stable nation for investment

Prime Minister’s Adviser and Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Mahdi Amin has said Bangladesh has gained global recognition as a stable destination for investment.

He also said the government’s assurances on gas pressure to representatives of the business community and media are already showing results, with gas pressure increasing.

Mahdi Amin made the remarks at a special press conference at the Korobi Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Wednesday afternoon.

He said inflation was also showing a positive trend, while prices of essential commodities had declined. He also claimed that diesel prices in Bangladesh were lower than in many other countries.

Highlighting what he described as government achievements, Mahdi Amin said technical education had been made mandatory up to Class VI.

He said initiatives had also been taken to establish a public university in Cox’s Bazar dedicated to research on the blue economy.

He said rooftop gardening programs had been introduced at educational institutions across the country.

Mahdi Amin also said pay scales ranging from Tk20,000 to Tk156,000 had been introduced for government financial benefits, and that legislation on property inheritance had been enacted.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibli, Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon and other relevant officials were present at the press conference.
