A secondary school headmaster was killed after being hit by a moving train in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
The accident took place around 7:30 pm at Narayanganj Central Railway Station.
The dead Delwar Hossain, 48, was the headmaster of Munshiganj High School, a resident of Panchabati area of Fatulla in Narayanganj. He used to live with his family in a rented house at Shyampur of Dhaka.
Narayanganj Railway Police Outpost In-charge (Inspector) Mokhlesur Rahman said that a train leaving from Dhaka was entering Narayanganj station. At that time, some passengers including Delwar Hossain jumped from the platform and tried to board the moving train. Delwar Hossain was hit by the train and died on the spot after suffering a serious head injury.
Imran Hossain, a colleague of the deceased, said that after school, Delwar Hossain usually returned to his Shyampur home by train from Munshiganj via Narayanganj.
