At least three persons were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Mulibari area in Sirajganj Sadar upazila on Friday evening.

The deceased are: Shafiqul Islam, 38, son of Golam Mostafa, his wife Sumona Akhter, 20, and younger sister Lakhi Khatun, 25, all hailed from Baoitara village in the same upazila.

Police said, the accident took place at evening, while a speeding bus hit an auto-rickshaw-van from behind leaving the three dead on the spot and injured three others.

On information, police reached to the spot and recovered the bodies. Later, those were sent to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. After the autopsy, the bodies were handed over to the victims’ relatives. A case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.
