Election Commissioner (EC) Anisur Rahman today said that the first phase of the Upazila Parishad (UP) elections will be held by April 30.

EC Anisur Rahman said this in a press conference held at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Monday (January 22).

At that time, EC Anisur Rahman said that the sixth UP election would be held by April 30 after the National Assembly elections. The election will be held in four to five phases. Besides, voting will be held in Mymensingh City on March 9. Voting will be done in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The full schedule will be given later.

EC Anisur also said that Cumilla City by-election will also be held on March 9. Besides, the schedule of reserved seats will be announced soon.
