Two people were killed when a truck rammed into the back of a parked truck in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali.

The accident occurred around 4 am on Wednesday (April 16) in front of Jalal’s garage on the Noakhali-Lakshmipur highway in Nazirpur area of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Sajeeb, 18, son of Jasim Uddin of Fazilpur area under Begumganj union of the upazila, and Shakib, 20, son of Shah Alam of Kendurbag area of the same union.

Locals said a sand-laden truck parked on the side of the road was hit by another truck loaded with sand, causing the front of the truck to twist. Then it fell into a nearby pond. Two helpers sitting in the front cabin of the truck died on the spot.

Chandraganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ruhul Amin confirmed it.
