A press conference was held at the office of local Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday (April 19) demanding construction of the proposed 1,000-bed China-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital in Sirajganj town.
The press conference was presided over and addressed by Saidur Rahman Bachchu, President of Sirajganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Member of BNP’s Central Executive Committee and General Secretary of District BNP.
In a written statement, Saidur Rahman Bachchu said that, decision has been taken to establish three China-Bangladesh Friendship hospitals with 1,000-bed each in Bangladesh. There is huge space in Sirajganj to establish one of the large hospitals.
He further said that if a China-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital is built in Sirajganj district, people from all over the country including the northern region will be able to get services easily. Because of it is possible to travel to Sirajganj from any part of the country easily by road, rail and waterway.
Sirajganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice President Golam Mostafa, General Secretary Md. Ibrahim Hossain, District BNP Legal Affairs Secretary and President of the Bar Association and District Sessions Judge Court PP Shakil Mohammad Shariful Haider (Rafiq Sarkar), Kamarkhand Upazila BNP General Secretary Rezate Rabbi Utthan and journalists from different electronic and print media were also present in the event.
