The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Monday ordered to demolish Gulshan Shopping Centre, situated in Gulshan-1, upholding the High Court verdict.

A five-member Appellate Division bench, led by Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, passed the order holding a hearing over the issue.

A bench of High Court on December 13, last, ordered to demolish the shopping mall within 30 days. Later, shop owners association of that complex filed a petition challenging the HC order.

Dhaka North City Corporation sealed the shopping complex on July 13, 2023, as the Fire Service and Civil Defence and Rajuk (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha) in separate reports said the building was vulnerable.
