Cabinet sets May 25-31 as Eid holidays

The government has declared a seven-day holiday for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held tonight with Prime Minister Tareque Rahman in the chair, according to Cabinet Division sources.

The Eid holidays will run from May 25 to 31. However, the weekly holiday on Saturday, May 23, has been cancelled.

In a statement, the Cabinet Division said, “On the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha 2026, holidays have been declared from May 25 to May 31, 2026. Offices will remain open on May 23 and 24.”
