Entertainment Desk:
Actress Shobnom Bubly has joined the shooting of director Raihan Rafi’s new film “Pressure Cooker”, a women-centric project that recently went into production.
Speaking about the film, Bubly said she was instantly drawn to the story and her character.
“I really loved the story. The character is very interesting. I felt there was an opportunity to do something new, and that aspect attracted me the most,” she said.
With “Pressure Cooker”, Bubly is working again under Rafi’s direction after nearly three years. The duo last collaborated on “7 Number Floor”, which was released in 2022.
Sources from the director and the production house revealed that the most notable aspect of the film is the absence of a conventional male hero. Instead, the entire narrative revolves around female characters. At a time when hero-driven stories still dominate Dhallywood, such a women-focused film is being seen as a significant departure.
Alongside Bubly, the film also stars Nazifa Tushi and Mariya Santo. The drama will unfold through the distinct journeys, conflicts, and real-life pressures faced by these three women.
Though “Pressure Cooker” focuses mainly on women, one important male character will appear in the film. There is speculation that either Zahid Hasan or Chanchal Chowdhury may play the role, though director Raihan Rafi and the production house have chosen to remain silent for now, keeping the mystery intact.
If all goes as planned, “Pressure Cooker” is set to hit theaters during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
