The bodies of two missing young men were recovered from river in Dinajpur’s Khansama upazila on Sunday.

Khansama Fire Service & Civil Defence diving team recovered the bodies from the Belan river.

The body of missing Jayanto Roy, 25, son of Jitendra Nath Roy, of Dakshin Agra village under Khansama Upazila, was recovered on Sunday afternoon. Earlier, on Saturday evening, the fire service recovered the body of Bankeshwar Chandra Roy, 35, of the same village.

It was known that the two young men were returning home from work on Saturday. At that time, the two slipped into the Belan river while crossing the rubber dam and went missing. Local people tried to rescue them by going down to the river but failed.

Later, being informed, Khansama Fire Service and their diving team recovered the bodies.

Khansama Fire Service and Civil Defense Leader Abu Sayem confirmed the news.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Khansama Police Station Mojaharul Islam said as there was no complaint, the bodies were handed over to their families.
