They staged a ‘Street Play’ on the highway blocking vehicular movement facility for two hours from 10:00am to 12:00pm. As a result, hundreds of vehicles got stuck up on the both sides of the demonstration venue.
The demonstrators said, Rabindra University’s teachers, students, officials and employees have been demanding approval of DPP since the establishment of this educational institution. But, the authorities concerned have not yet been paid heeds in this regard even after passing nine years of its establishment.
On the other hand, agitation has spread among the transports drivers and workers, who travel through the route regularly, due to such as blockade of the road daily. They urged the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to make the road free from protesters.
