Former law minister Anisul Huq, private industry affairs adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina Salman F Rahman and former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak were shown arrested in separate murder cases on Wednesday.
The cases were filed with Khilgaon and Badda police stations over killings of people during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Anisul, Salman and Palak were produced before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi in the morning for hearing.
Anisul Huq was shown arrested in two cases filed with Badda Police Station over the killings of Taufiqul Islam Bhuiyan, Abdul Jabbar Sumon and Sirajul Bepary, while Salman F rahman was shown arrested in three cases filed with Khilgaon and Badda police stations over the deaths of Hasan Mahmud , Emdadul Haque and Taufiqul Islam Bhuiyan.
Anisul and Salman were arrested in the capital’s Sadarghat on 13 August. Later, the court placed each of them on placed on a total of 25 days of remand in different cases in three phases.
On the other hand, Palak was shown arrested in two cases filed with Badda Police Station over the killing of Emdadul Haque and Taufiqul Islam during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Palak was arrested by the law enforcers from Dhaka’s Nikunja residential area in Khilkhet on 14 August.
